Vans of Hope began with a simple belief: life in a wheelchair should be about more than just getting by—it should be full of connection, purpose, and joy.

This mission grew out of personal experience. While caring for my mother, I watched her world shrink due to chronic pain, limited mobility, and the lack of truly accessible transportation. She became increasingly withdrawn, not because she didn’t want to engage, but because it was simply too hard to leave the house. When we finally had access to a wheelchair-accessible van, something shifted. Our first outing—a simple lunch at a restaurant—sparked a change. Her energy lifted, her smile came back, and for the first time in a long time, she was looking forward to what came next.

That day reminded us of something we hadn’t felt in years—just a regular lunch between a mother and daughter. It was simple, joyful, and profoundly healing. That’s why we’re so committed to making access easier for others…
